Sofia Hotlen Driving School

Founded in 1989 by Miguel Guerrero and Sofia Hotlen, our driving school has dedicated over 35 years to shaping confident drivers across Northern California. Our unique teaching methodology emphasizes defensive driving techniques and thorough road rule education, ensuring students master both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. With a proven track record of teaching 60,000+ students, we maintain DMV licensing (#3889) and employ dual-controlled vehicles with passenger-side accelerators for enhanced safety. Our experienced instructors provide personalized one-on-one training tailored to teens, adults, and seniors, offering flexible scheduling options including weekend and evening lessons. We prioritize student success through structured lesson plans, DMV test preparation, and a transparent 'pay-as-you-go' payment system.

Located in Auburn and Grass Valley, our team of professional male and female instructors has maintained consistent office staff for two decades, ensuring continuity and reliability. Our comprehensive programs include 30-hour online driver education, behind-the-wheel training, and court-mandated traffic school courses. We maintain a student-centric approach with individualized lesson reviews for parents and spaced-out training sessions to optimize learning retention. Our commitment to quality instruction has resulted in high DMV test pass rates and long-standing community trust. As educators with formal qualifications in human resources and teaching, we combine academic expertise with practical driving experience to deliver exceptional training outcomes.
