Learn to drive with Virtual Drive's best online parent taught drivers ed course! Skip the classroom with our mobile-friendly online course and behind-the-wheel driving lessons. Parent Taught Driver Education (PTDE) allows a parent or legal guardian to provide instruction to their teen student. The student must complete 32 hours of online classroom training, and 44 hours of behind-the-wheel driving lessons while being supervised by their parent or legal guardian.In Parent Taught Drivers Ed, the student completes 32 hours of online drivers ed training as their time permits.
Students enrolled in a traditional Texas driver education school and complete the 32 hours of classroom or online training, can switch over to our parent taught (PTDE) behind the wheel course. This in-car behind the wheel training course is approved by TDLR (Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation).

This is an excellent option for parents and young adults who can work independently and achieve driving lessons online. The lessons are extremely comprehensive and the behind the wheel learning is done as needed with the parent/adult teacher's own schedule. My son was able to do the virtual learning on his own with very few questions and I was able to teach him how to drive on my own schedule.
We completed the entire training in about four months. Yet, per the law in Texas, a learners permit must be used for at least six months before getting the DL. I do recommend this product. It was also the cheapest on the market and their internet platform is reliable and user friendly.

Passed Road Test same day. I would highly recommended Virtual Drive. I was initially skeptical because I have not been through this process since I was 16. I contacted the company left a voicemail and the gentleman returned my call promptly. After the course I had to complete a 1 hour session through DPS called Impact of which is mandatory with DPS.
I scheduled my appointment. Showed up, the sarcastic lady at DPS stated well you don't have the impact certification or drivers course certification. I responded well actually I do. So someone helped process me and I was fortunate enough to get worked in today for a road test. The course was easy to follow. I love great customer service. I have recommended to a few friends. Thank you

Initially, i was skeptical about virtual drive educational services because the website isn't as fanciful as other driving school website on the internet. Well, i decided to take a leap of faith. I called the number on the website and left a voicemail. An hour later, i got a call back from the school where i was about to express my concerns and then i went ahead with the payment. Within the space of 6hrs, i took the online tutorials and at on my 1st attempt i passed the DPS written exams. I am very happy and fullfilled.
