We're a family run and operated driving school since 1994. With only 3 locations, we're tiny enough to provide your child the personal attention that they deserve as they venture into the driving world. Our superb program consists of 24 hours of classroom training and 8 hours of one on one driving with a patient, state certified instructor.

Welcome to Toledo Driving Schools, where we help our students become safe and skilled drivers. We are a small, locally owned company with over 20 years of experience. All of our teachers are certified by the state of Ohio as Licensed Driving Instructors. They are knowledgeable in the specific regulations and laws required of all drivers in Ohio. We know that learning to drive can be both thrilling and frightening at the same time, so we do our best to cater to each student and their individual needs.
When doing the full driver's education program each student gets 4 two hour driving lessons. We drive 7 days a week, virtually all day. These are done individually. Because they are individual lessons, they book in advance. Drive times can be several months out. Please note that driver's education is meant to be started at 15 years and 5 months (a month before they can get their permit) and spread out over a 6-month time frame. We do offer a special cancellation list (see below) for students who have already met their other requirements.
The 24 hours of classroom instruction is divided up into 6 four-hour sessions. Classes typically run Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for two weeks or Sundays only for 6 weeks. We have different start dates and times available depending on which location is closest to you and time of year you are taking the classes. In the case of adverse weather, class cancellations will be reported to news stations, similar to regular school snow days. Below is our class schedule. Please note the locations and times.
Its time for you to grade us! We would love to hear about your experiences with our staff. These surveys are anonymous and help us shape our team to better suit our students. Please take a minute to fill out the evaluation form below and it will be sent directly to our training manager. Please add your personal contact information in the comment section if you would like us to contact you regarding any issues. We greatly appreciate it.
We can accept cash, check, or money order at our locations. If you would like to use debit/credit card you can pay online through PayPal. You DO NOT have to be a PayPal member, just sign in as guest. We use PayPal for your protection. Please note that there is a $5 fee that will be added to your payment (listed as "shipping") each time you make a payment. There is no fee if you pay by cash, check or money order at our location. When you are making your payment you can list your student's name and start date as the description, type in the amount you would like to pay, click "Update, " and then proceed with filling out the rest of the information.
We know teaching your teenager to drive can be a nerve-racking task already and sending them off with a stranger can only make it worst. To try to ease your mind a little bit, we thought we would explain the process of becoming a licensed instructor in the state of Ohio. In order to even be eligible to become an instructor you have to have had your license for a minimum of 5 years and less than 4 points on their current driving record. We also ask students to complete anonymous evaluations for both classroom and driving sessions that our training manager uses to help improve our teaching techniques throughout the year.
Maneuverability is one of the parts of the final examination that you have to pass before you get your final license. While it is very similar, it has replaced the "parallel parking" exam that used to be given. As long as the student's skill will allow us to, our instructors will practice during the behind-the-wheel lessons. Maneuverability is something that takes practice, very few people can do it only practicing during their lessons. Every car is different and has different dimensions, so the driver must adapt every time they do it.
