Driver Mentor sessions are now available! Hour long sessions with a knowledgeable instructor help you hone your street driving skills. Instructors are able to evaluate your current capabilities while providing education to help you improve. We now offer a way to get to your driver's test at the MVA, even if you don't have a car available to take the test.
6 hours of driving time with an instructor is included as part of the basic 30-hour classroom training package. Each student will be taken out for 3 drives, each lasting 2 hours, using an MVA approved vehicle supplied by the School. For all Behind-the-Wheel sessions, students are picked up at school, home, or at a place that is convenient for them.
Get to your driver's test at the MVA, even if you don't have a car available to take the test! One of our instructors will pick you up at your home, school, or other desired locaiton. Before heading over to the MVA, they will give you a refresher driving lesson to make sure you feel confident before taking your driving test.
Upon first receiving a learner's permit, students are strongly advised to begin driving with a parent, guardian or mentor. Empty parking lots are a good starting place for the beginner to familiarize themselves with controls, such as gas pedal, brake pedal, and steering wheel. For an overview of the skills evaluated during the Behind-the-Wheel sessions, please refer to our Evaluation Form (pdf).

The standard driver's ed zoom classes were fine. Your driving experience depends on the mentor/teacher you get. My behind the wheel sessions were mixed, depending on which driving instructor I got. For teachers, Courtney was great (not sure if still there) but Robert was awful, but luckily he's long gone. I also took some mentorship hours with Helen and it was a pleasure to work with her, would highly recommend her.

Driving instructor tries to run bicyclists over and then threatens them. This is illegal and malicious.

I saw somebody on the road and it was average at best. Wrong turning signals and driving extremely slow. Better luck next time.

I believe learning is done by doing. One of instructor this school has made worst day. She had 1 on 1 driving lesson with some scumbag instructor name ROBERT in this school. First he changed his time twice. 10 to 12 and 12 to 1. After the lesson my daughter came back crying about ROBERT making snarky comments like "maybe you should get out of the car" or "In USA we drive in left lane" as if he is mocking her being Asian. She had few lesson with other instructor just fine in this school. Def avoid this school. They have some awful driving instructor.

This school is the definition of tough love. They will warn you of the dangers of driving that you need to know. They don't baby you until you drive well but instead teach you to drive the way you need to learn. They train excellent drivers and that is what is required from a Driving School. The sassy comments from Patrick Francis can be a little much but as long as you keep in mind that he is like that with everyone and don't take it personally, you will be just find.

The driving instructor Patrick needs to learn to keep his snarky comments and negativity to himself. If you can avoid having him as a driving instructor you'd probably have a more positive experience. and I would've given more stars.

Paul gave me a one hour lesson and took me to the test. He knows the test backwards and I passed on first attempt. The whole affair took less than 3 hours. This is an excellent service for those, like me, who have a foreign license but need to get a Maryland license too.

Horrific experience! Extremely rude and unprofessional. As a student, would you want your instructor telling you that you are a bad driver, telling you about how many car accidents happen every year, yelling at you, and making you feel nervous all of this going on while you are behind the wheel? If not, please take your money elsewhere! Patrick Francis is the owner of the school and he is also the instructor that I speak of. I would not recommend this place to anyone! Please take heed to what I am saying.
