Services
RIDGEFIELD DRIVING SCHOOL LLC is dedicated to providing the very best driver education possible. Our goal is to provide students with the decision-making tools they will need to lessen their risk on the road. We work to increase our students' level of awareness and teach them strategies to properly manage time, space, and visibility.
Teaching your teenager to drive can be an intimidating experience. But, as difficult as the task may be, getting your neophyte driver out on the road is critical. We cannot emphasize strongly enough how important at-home practice is. The eight hours of road training with us is just a beginning. We recommend that before going for the license exam, the student should have practiced for at least 60 hours in addition to our lessons. Keep a small notebook in the glove compartment and record practice times.

If you are looking for the best driving school in the area, look no further than Ridgefield Driving School! The head instructors, Mark and Jackie Cyphers, have finley tuned their very interactive teaching styles through many years of experience. They really know how to reach everyone in the class, by making sure everyone participates and nobody is left out.

This not only keeps you attentive, but is quite entertaining and informative! It is also advantageous that you can take the classes at your own pace, and in any order, as long as you complete all of the necessary chapters. I just passed my license test yesterday and I can't thank Mark, Jackie, and his other intructors, (who mainly teach the on-road lessons) enough! Go ahead and give Ridgefield Driving School a try. You won't regret it!

Great experience. Mark keeps the classes interesting and interactive. The classes go over real life scenarios and prepare you for driving out on the road. The lessons and instructors are very helpful. I have found that the last lesson is very helpful and is a simulation of the real test. I was fully prepared for the actual test and passed easily. So try to schedule your last lesson right before the actual test if possible, it is very refreshing and goes over everything you need to know.

Thank you to Mark and his professional and conscientious staff for a very good driver education experience. They are qualified, flexible and communicative instructors who work easily with an array of young driver personalities. Patience and professionalism help to navigate the daunting task of training a teenage driver. The program is well structured and convenient for busy schedules.

Awesome institution that is very well run! The classes are informative without being boring. The driving lessons were very well organized and the instructors really know what they are doing. Mark really works with your schedule as driving lessons and classes are offered at different times and on different days! And most importantly there are cookies on Tuesdays!

Really flexible so you can complete the course with any schedule. The lessons are extremely helpful too. The instructors even take you on the same roads as your driving test (provided you test in Ridgefield).

Mark is an excellent instructor, and a really good guy. He emphasizes the seriousness of driving, and makes the classes entertaining at the same time. He prepared our daughter very well for her on-road driving test. We definitely recommend RDS!

UPDATE: the owner called this morning and offered to make it right. I appreciate this tremendously as it shows that he cares about his customers. Therefore I am changing my rating. The classes at RDS are fine. Informative and hours are flexible. Some instructors are more patient than others.

My daughter has had two driving lessons from this school. The first from Jackie that went great. The second was from Mark. My daughter was shaking and crying after the lesson. By the middle of the lesson she was shaking and had trouble concentrating and even had wobbly legs making it difficult to press the accelorator. She said the critiques came so fast that she didn't have time to digest them before another came flying.

She said he was raising his voice and not teaching. My daughter has been driving for about 25 hrs. and is still learning. All people learn differently but there was no adaptation on Mark's part. If he thought she needed to start fresh or was not comfortable with her driving it probably would have been best to go to a parking lot. We have been having difficulty scheduling lessons so this past week she went to Next Street and had a 2 hr lesson which was great.

The gentleman was calm and she accomplished a lot. We kept the appointment with Mark so we weren't canceling at last minute and being rude or inconveniencing him. I am not raising my daughter to be a snowflake but this was abusive. Yelling is not a way to teach, especially in a car! This is the first negative post I've ever posted and hopefully will be the last.
