All new drivers who want to obtain a Driver's License in the state of Maryland must successfully complete a MVA License and Certified Driver Education Program.

The DRIVER EDUCATION PROGRAM cost is $250. 00 a minimum seat deposit of $100. 00 is due prior to starting the course and the balance of $150. 00 is due by the end of your classroom session. This class meets Monday - Friday, 3 hours 15 minutes per day for two weeks.

The course consists of two phases:

CLASSROOM - The State of Maryland requires 30 hours of classroom instruction. Classroom topics include: The Maryland Graduated Licensing System, Vehicle Operation and Control Devices, Space Management, Basic Maneuvers, Traffic Signs, Symbols and Marking, Maryland Traffic Laws, Risk Reduction Strategies for Expressway Driving, Personal Factors Influencing Driver Performances, Vehicle Malfunctions, How to Report an Accident. To pass the classroom portion of the driver education course, the student must attend, participate in class activities and, score a minimum of 80% on each test and the final exam.

BEHIND THE WHEEL (BTW) - A valid learner's permit is required and must be presented at the beginning of each lesson to your BTW Instructor. NO PERMIT, NO LESSON, NO EXCEPTION. There are 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction. In-car skills include basic maneuvers (parallel parking) , defensive driving techniques and on street driving in a variety of environments. To pass the behind the wheel portions of the Driver's Education Program the student must satisfactory pass the performance criteria for each lesson.

Once the student has successfully completed both the classroom and the behind the wheel sessions, Drivers Edu. Driving School will electronically submit to Maryland Department of Motor Vehicle Administration a Driver Education Program Certificate within 24 hours.

you must take the final exam in-person at our Test Area. When arriving at the
TEST AREA, you must have with you a form of picture identification and $50
for the Driver Improvement Program.
