Christo Driving School Christo Driving School is a family-owned and operated business that was established in 1951 by George Christo. It is now run by second and third generations, Rick and Donna Christo, with their sons and daughter in law, Christopher, Michael, and Christy. Our business has been successful for over 70 years in providing the training and education our students need to have a safe driving career. We have been licensed by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles for over 70 years, specializing in Drivers' Education for teens and adults.
Services
Through a temporary policy, the RMV is allowing Driving Schools to offer online driver education training, in addition to in person. Most important to enroll is that the student must be at least 15 years and 9 months - there are no exceptions!. You only need to choose the first date, signing up for each class individually is not necessary at this time it is how our system is designed so that you know how many classes are required and the student must attend to complete the 30 required classroom hours.
Our foremost interest is driver safety. Driving the right way will save you thousands of dollars in insurance and will help you to avoid dangerous accidents and costly citations. A Driver's License is a privilege that must be earned and it can be taken away if used recklessly. Unlicensed students over the age of 18 are not required to complete a Drivers' Education program but we do offer private lessons for adults. Many parents are surprised by how much the requirements have changed since they first got their licenses.
To cancel a lesson Tuesday-Friday, you must give at least 24-hour notice to avoid a $50.00 missed lesson fee per driving hour. If you have a lesson scheduled for Saturday, Sunday and/or Monday it must be canceled by closing (6:00pm) the Thursday before the scheduled lesson to avoid a $50.00 missed lesson fee per driving hour.
It's a fact: hands-on crash prevention training is the key to safety for all drivers. At Christo Driving School, we teach our students the rules of the road and we develop in them the proper guidelines for safe vehicle handling on the road, but nothing compares to true hands-on practice to teach students the power of the vehicles they are driving, and the responsibility that goes along with it.

I just wanted to say NOT to listen to the hateful comments. I was reading the comments before I had signed up for Christo's Driving School and was scared to apply. The phone call was very professional. They were nice. Yes you have to give credit card info because they need to make sure that you WILL make a payment before the driving class. I took my first class on Tuesday and the instructor (Chris) was VERY nice, very helpful and very understanding.

The communication between my instructor and I was Amazing. My worries and doubts went away after my first lesson and I'm very satisfied with my decision on attending this driving class.

I sign up my son for driving ed in February and he took all the online clases and now he needs the road lessons but now the school says that they don't have openings until December because they don't have enough instructors. I explain to them that my son permit expire in November, that is 4 months from now and they told me they can't do anything. I ask for my money back and they say that I still owe $105.00 to cancel.

This is not our fault that 5 instructors left there positions. That is not acceptable. I advice everyone not to sign up for Christos Driving school. They should have been honest from the beginning or let us know the time frame. Please share this to your family and friends.

Critical:Communication, Quality, Value They made me pay all the online classes in the begging of February and then told me I had to wait 5 more months to take the in person driving and still wants to finish paying while I have to wait. They refused a refund even though I have my permit, and there excuse was 5 instructors left. This place is horrible.

My son took lessons with the Northborough location. When Covid hit they allowed him to switch to online Zoom classes which were very convenient. He had his driving lessons scheduled. They called and accommodated us right away and got his lessons scheduled. Despite the shut down he will still be able to take his drivers test on time. Very happy with their communication and driving instruction.

I wish I could give zero. Except for the excellent teacher but a very bad company and unprofessionalism of other employees.

Critical:Communication, Value Too expensive for what it is. Not every instructor is good as the other and all follow different methods, confusing to student. Worth it if your child is under 18 and they want license ASAP. Road test instructors aren't chosen by the school but, strict and should be well prepared for failure.

I went with the framingham location and they were great! I took a road lesson 4 days before my road test and I passed! Showed me great tips and was really calm and friendly. Highly recommend

I haven't gone to this school nor know anyone that has, I just came here to say while sitting at a red light on a major road late at night a Christo student driver car pulled up next to me, now this was far too late at night for the driver to be a student so I can only assume it was an instructor or owner. The person stopped at the light and then seconds later took off turning through the intersection with complete disregard for the cars that were approaching the intersection from the opposite direction.

This wasn't a right on red situation, this was a left during a red arrow across multiple lanes of oncoming traffic. I would never trust someone who does this, let alone does this in a company car, teach me child how to drive.

Many years ago, Mr Christo himself was very rude to me. His son was very pleasant and understanding.

What is going on with these negative reviews? Are we talking about the same school? My son just finished the complete drivers ed program at the school. We had a unbelievable experience. The full week of in-class instruction was useful and a good way to get in all the required hours in just five days. The classes were always easy to schedule and reschedule, if need be.

So flexible with pickups and dropoffs. My son was picked up at home and at school, he was always dropped off at home so I never had to worry. The teachers always called if they were running just a bit late. I really liked that he had different teachers, as no one person teaches exactly the same way, but the yellow card was a perfect communication between the teachers, student and us, parents.

My wife and I have been driving for many years, but heard our son say on multiple occasions: I am not listening to you, if I did that on the driving test, I would fail : The teachers also take out students when the road conditions are less than perfect, and use it as teachable moments. The office was also very straight forward and accomodating, always ready to answer any of our questions.

I was dreading going to the parent class, but it was very well run, was super informative and we had a lot of laughs. Not sure what hidden fees reviewers are talking about, everything was disclosed. Paying for a road test with Christo Driving school was a choice, we knew that our son would feel better using the car he used for classes, and we thought that having an instuctor in the back would make him feel less nervous.

This was not a requirement by any means. On the day of the exam, my wife came in with my son a little early and were greeted by the owner, who spent more time with them, making sure that my son would feel confident. He walked him out to the door and wished him luck, what a nice personal touch. Yes, my son passed the test, but I would write the same review if he did not. Thank you Christo Driving School for the wonderful experience, will see you soon with my other two children.

Unprofessional and unskilled at teaching students how to drive. The instructor stopped numerous times to get out and smoke making my child ill from the lingering stench. Not worth the price and there isn't a clear way or dispensation given if students or parents express concerns. Much cheaper and more productive and professional to do the test at the MA RMV. I gave one star because they were always prompt with the pick up time.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. This is the worst service and business out there. This is a scam, and your child will not learn how to drive. Those hours on the road? USELESS. The Hamilton out of your pocket? STOLEN. The instructors do not know what they are doing, most of the lesson is spent picking up and dropping off other kids. It's basically an uber service.

The examiners from Worcester are out to fail perfectly competent drivers, and they are rude. This family business does not respond to emails and they constantly move lessons around. Our experience with Christos has been terrible and if there was a negative-star this place would deserve it. Please be reminded of this when considering sending your child to Christo Driving School.

Mr. Christopher Christo was a PERFECT GENTLEMAN and a very kind man who took me to the Milford Registry of Motor Vechicles! The men have very tough jobs so I sent him a St. Christopher Medal from a national, Catholic shrine to protect him. He was compassionate, honest and I hope, now, a dear friend. Sandra A. Some of their driving instructors (2011-12 time frame) could be better at working with a variety of 16-year olds. Also, the Cristos office people are pleasant and sound efficient but the information they gave on the phone was not always complete. I asked them at least once on the phone how long we had to complete the driving lessons and they never mentioned there is a 2-year limit, until it had already expired.

Very rude, very bad customer support. I called the office number for driving classes and gave all the information, they asked for credit card information for which I told I will give once I book appointment, then the person (Sara) told someone would call next day. I waited till evening and called them back and same person picked up phone and she had hard time checking my details, after 10 minutes she was able to find my details and then she said reason no one called was because credit card information is not given which was surprising.

I asked to speak to supervisor, some one by name Rachel took the phone and I tried to explain her everything, she told I have to give credit card info first, I told I have no problem giving it but I need to know if there is any appointment before giving it, she said there is no appointment till end of July and hung up on me! I am not sure why they need credit card info even before scheduling appointment, they do not know when they have appointments available and also they had tough time finding my details from their system.

Also they seem to be very rude and don't care about customer service! I would recommend not to go with these people unless they have some justification for both credit card and mainly rudeness.

Instructors were great to average but the office dropped the ball by never offering one clear price sheet for the customer. Most documents given to the customer are confusing and unclear. It seemed as if there was always an additional fee that was not disclosed from the start. Also, zero accommodations are made for people who cannot take the Christo sponsored driving test on Saturday due to religious convictions.

Very NASTY and UNPROFESSIONAL. There are other driving school around which are much better. We had a bad experience with Christo and tried Chelmsford Auto school, very satisfied and honest people

The worst customer service I have ever encountered. The ladies from the main office are rude and consistently unhelpful. 100 times more expensive than comm ed and 1000 times worse. The classes and drivings were just as average, but scheduling was the most pain-staking process I have ever gone through. They do not have enough staff to accommodate their large mass of customers which is funny because they definitely charge enough to add on some more driving instructors. Like hell I'm paying them an extra $125 to administer an exam that the majority of their students fail. Overall, an annoying experience.

The guy is kind of an asshole. He's calm enough when he corrects you but he doesn't ever mention anything you've done right until he's comparing it to what you've done wrong. I've had much more helpful driving instruction elsewhere.

These people need some serious work on customer service. There were a couple of very legitimate concerns I had about some of my son's experiences. I called to let them know, they were rude and accused us of distorting the truth. Throughout the lessons process we had other issues with their customer service. Some of there instructors are great, but some unprofessional.

The school seems to find ways to "squeeze" more money out of the parents. For the road test, instead of spending even more money unnecessarily, I suggest just going through the RMV directly. At the end of the day you want your child to learn how to drive safely and learn the rules of the road - Christo's can be good with that. I just wish that considering how much they charge, that they would work on their customer service, and not make that part of the process so unpleasant.

Can't speak to the in-class driver's ed. program but the driving lessons were solid. Driving instructors are solid, know their stuff and how to handle nervous beginners. Helpful mnemonics to remember maneuvers, and are thorough in their teaching. They gave me a little chart with the maneuvers that would be tested on the road test and gave ratings (I- introduced, n- needs improvement, s- satisfactory) to show what was covered and what I needed to work on.

Not the cheapest option, but you get what you pay for, and I'd say the extra money is worth it. Plus, they use really nice cars, easy to handle, with no ugly hardware on the roof to scream to the word that you're a student driver (though their business name and number is painted on the sides).

I had 3 instructors and only one by the name of Dan was patient with me. He gave very good instructions and constructive comments. Most importantly, he's very patient and helped me gain confidence in driving. One of the other 2 instructors gave alot of destructive comments ('you are a slow beginner', or at the end of the lesson ' oh what a bad day' ....) and made me lose a lot of confidence.

He was sometimes on the phone while I drove and that really put me off because already it is very expensive to learn from this school. I made sure to have Dan as instructor ever since my negative learning experience from this instructor. However, Dan was most of the time booked (understandably)... In the end, I went to Boston and continued my driving lessons with another school at a much much lower price. The instructor was also much more patient and very good. I passed my road test yesterday - in part thanks to Dan and in another, to the auto school in Boston.

My first child went to another driver's ed provider and Christo's was far superior and professional! I recommend them over any other provider.
