Under new ownership in 2013, Bay Cities Driving School has trained thousands of Bay Area teens and adults to become safe, independent drivers since 1982. We are committed to providing quality driving instruction for any student. Our defensive driving training enables our students to develop the skills needed to safely drive on both streets and highways and to handle the many driving situations they will encounter on the road. Our lessons are taught in well-maintained, dual control instructional cars by DMV-licensed instructors.
Our Driver Education course meets the DMV requirement for teenagers between the ages of 15 1/2 to 17 1/2 as the first step in the license application process. Once you receive your Completion Certificate, you can apply for your DMV Provisional Driver Permit (or "Learner's Permit"). Our California DMV-approved online driver education course is only $49 and includes a $20 discount on our 6-hour Behind the Wheel Training package.
Whether you're a new teen driver or an adult needing a refresher, we have a behind the wheel training program for you! Our lessons are always private, one-to-one sessions taught by DMV-licensed instructors in our dual-control equipped cars. We pick up and drop off at your location and teach seven days a week.
Have a moving violation and need to attend traffic school? We've partnered with National Driving and Traffic School, a California licensed traffic violator school, to provide a high quality, cost-effective online traffic school.

As a Senior I needed to review my skills and limitation Jonathan was huge resource, his skill to encourage me to fine tune my awareness anticipate a larger visional scope of traffic and pedestrians! His ability to communicate positive feedback was hugely helpful! My personal message is every Senior should update their skills, especially with Jonathan

4 years later. May 2 2019. Definitely have not improved in customer service, always closed office, call and they only give you information by phone, they need to improve. To improve my qualification they need to improve the customer service. I lost my time (1hour) in coming here. I do not recommend if you want personal attention.

This was by far the most horrible lesson. The instructor did not only used his phone while driving at the beginning but also kept using his phone while I was driving. This was clearly a sign that he was not only an unsafe driver but also a horrible instructor that did not pay attention to the student and increase the student's anxiety. I definitely do NOT recommend. Besides they are even more expensive than other schools.

I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience. I had been putting off getting my license for a long, long, long time (let's just say I'm solidly middle-aged) and had loads of anxiety going in. But, lo and behold, I passed my road test on the first try! The folks at Bay Cities were extremely professional. Karla did a great job strategically scheduling my appointments for the weeks leading up to my test.

She called with a reminder before every appointment and even texted me a reminder to bring a snack and drink to my road test because it was going to be a warm day. My teacher, Danny, was amazing. Seriously, a real pro. He was always punctual. And he really cared about making sure I did more than just pass the test. He taught me how to think defensively, how to effectively use my mirrors and at one point, got out of the car to demonstrate where my blind spots and mirror views were.

He really wants you to become a good driver. I've had several driving instructors over the years and he was, by far, the best. I would recommend Danny and Bay Cities to anyone, without hesitation.

The only major issue was the videos would stop working or not have sound.

I tried this school on recommendation of my friend. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful for pretty much every appointment. I was not a fan of the first instructor who had a hard-to-understand accent and didnt help much by picking someone else up (a guy in training I think) and I can't remember anything he told me on this first lesson. Now Alex, my next instructor I stuck with all the way through, total "180." He had phrases, sayings and instructions that I still remember (got my license last December) and kept it simple and straightforward.

I went with their "car-to-DMV test as well" which I felt was worth the price since I didn't have a car at the time and the time from his lessons to the test didn't not feel that long at all. You should try him for sure :)
