A-1 Driving School is locally owned and has been in business since 1996. The school and its instructors are licensed and certified. It is the only licensed professional driving school in the Tri-City area. The business has grown from a 1 person, 1 vehicle venture to a 3 instructor, 2 car operation. Vehicles used for in-car training are 2004 Toyota Corolla model vehicles. Each vehicle is equipped with an extra brake pedal for student safety and comfort. Over the years, we have conducted "on campus" Driver-Ed programs at Tri-City Prep High School, Mayer High School, NorthPoint Expeditionary Learning Academy and Achieve Academy High Schools. Additionally, we are very proud of conducting annual training programs for the benefit of special needs students living in the tri-cities area through the West Yavapai Transition Team network in the county schools.
Services
Our driver education and driver training services benefit all ages of novice drivers - teens to senior citizens. Note: For those who have been issued a citation and have not yet paid it, you may be eligible to attend Defensive Driving class and keep the points off your driving record. A-1 Driving School is not a provider of Defensive Driving classes.

I've been trying to get my daughter to sign up for driving lesson but the guy promise me to send/email me information for the class lecture schedule. I've been trying for almost a year now and before my daughter got her permit but dind't receive anything or this person didn't get back to me after the last time I talk to him on the phone. Your company is very unreliable. I'm surprise that you still have the business. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Critical:Communication Instructor is nice, but needs to hire a secretary or someone to help with bookings. It is very rare for anyone to answer the phone. Most of the messages I leave go unanswered. Impossible to schedule next lessons. After paying for 10 driving lessons it's been many months and we have only been able to schedule 3 of them.

The instruction was good, however getting driving time is like pulling teeth. Jim never returns calls, won't schedule for more than once every other week. My foster child enrolled last January and still hasn't been able to finish her driving part. For the outrageous amount of money they charge they should treat their customers better. Look elsewhere to get your listener.

Useful information and good tea\coffee! The instructor was so nice he noticed i was trying to make tea so he helped me as well as made the lecture intresting! He made jokes and made learning fun. When you have to do a tss course (or whatever else drivers school does) Jim is deffinatly the way to go!
